As a disturbance nears southern Florida, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) will likely initiate Potential Tropical Cyclone Advisories later Friday. Such a measure would allow the NHC to issue preemptive Tropical Storm Watches along parts of southern and central Florida before the system meets tropical depression or named storm criteria. Tropical storm status may be reached Saturday or early Sunday. The next name on the list is ‘Debby’. A steady north to northeast turn, over Florida, is likely through the weekend, followed by a path over or parallel to the US East Coast. All interests in Florida, southeast Georgia, the coastal Carolinas, and surrounding areas should monitor the progress of this system.
Employees effected by inclement weather, evacuations etc. please remember to follow our CEN-SAFE procedures and check-in with your supervisor every 24 hours if you are capable. The check-in number is (833) CEN-SAFE.
